Find out more about volunteering

If you have a passion for working with children and young people and want to get involved with fun activities we would love to hear from you.

Interested in Volunteering?

We know how important volunteers are and what a huge difference they can make to improve the lives of the children and families.

We value volunteers who are caring, positive and energetic. If you think that sounds like you and you have the passion, energy, ideas and dedication to work with us, we would love to hear from you.

We will offer all the support you need, including training and development. We want you to have a rewarding and worthwhile experience with us.

We aim to involve a diverse group of volunteers to reflect the communities we work in.

What to expect...

Bucks Activity Project operates over weekends and school holidays throughout the year. It’s all about working as part of a team and having fun. Planning and delivering a range of activities and helping the staff with the safe care and engagement with children and young people.

We also have volunteers who work in the office, who still get to spend time with the children and young people.

If you want to gain experience working with children and like a lot of fun you would love working with us.

Could I be a Volunteer?

As long as you are 17 or over and are able to commit to working with us for at least 6 months. We have flexible working patterns that can fit around your other commitments.

Will I be trained?

You will be trained and supported in all appropriate tasks but you wouldn’t be expected to administer medication, be trained in moving and handling, or be responsible for a child or young person, on your own. You will always be joined by a member of staff.

So what do I do now?

You can Register on our volunteers database  or if you know someone already involved, ask a member of staff for more details. You’ll be invited along for a chat and once we’ve found out more about you and what you are interested in you will need to apply for security checks (DBS). After that process has happened we will be able to get you started.

If you love children and young people, and you love having fun – volunteering could well be for you.
