Types of short breaks

Bucks Activity Project provides a variety of fun services for local children. Whether your child prefers from small groups to larger events in the community, we can meet their needs. Here you will find more information on the types of short breaks we offer.

Weekend Clubs (8-14yrs) and Little Explorers (0-8yrs)

These clubs are based in the North and the South of the County and run for 3 hours. They are held on weekends throughout the year.  More information below about Little Explorers.

They offer the opportunity for children

  • to get together
  • make new friends
  • have fun
  • take part in creative and sporting group activities.

Activities include: cooking, arts and crafts, team games, indoor and outdoor play and general toys and games.

We run clubs from:

  • KiteRidge
  • Meadowcroft Youth and Community Centre

  • water sports

We run clubs from lots of different venues that include local schools, community centres, Thomley Activity Centre, Thames Valley Adventure Playground and leisure centres.

Out & About

Sessions out and about in the community accessing a range of venues and activities with peers with similar interests. Opportunity to try new things and take part in favourite activities.  Ages change for different activities, please check this to avoid disappointment.

Skyline (8-14yrs)

A regular commitment to a term-time after-school session with the same peer group. The sessions are planned to offer a range of age appropriate activities of common interest to the group of children accessing the sessions. The sessions will offer a safe environment to explore, build friendships and have fun together.

Youth Clubs - Limitless and Unlimited (13+)

Limitless

Our youth clubs are for young people aged 13-19. They are suitable for young people who are able to manage in a group setting with a lower level of support. Young People are encouraged to make decisions on the activities they take part in.

They  offer the opportunity to

  • meet regularly with friends
  • develop life skills

Unlimited

A teenager’s weekend youth club (13+) for those who need positive, age appropriate and safe activities, but find engaging in large groups or community settings difficult. We ask for commitment to a pattern of attendance at sessions, either morning or afternoon, once a month so that we can create familiar routines and support the young people to interact with familiar peers.

Carousel

Activities aimed at children and young people with a common interest. Predominantly venue based but occasional visits to venues with a specific theme will be planned. We would love to hear what your passionate about and match you with peers with similar interests. These may be a sport, activity or hobby and we hope you will make new friends with a common interest.

Little (8-13yrs) & Big Night Out (14+)

Pantomimes, Fright Nights, Discos and Cinema Take Overs to name but a few. A special night out happening once a quarter. Sessions may be one-off events or something a little different from our regular timetable, but definitely fun and something not to be missed!
