For volunteers

With your help as a volunteer, we can support even more children, young people and their families.

After a successful application and DBS check you'll receive support and training and the chance to make a real difference to local people's lives.

Dorset Nightstop hosts and drivers

Nightstop hosts offer a safe, secure bed for the night and a meal to homeless young people aged 16-25. Volunteer hosts welcome each young person on a temporary basis for up to three nights while a more permanent solution can be found.

Nightstop drivers provide safe transport for young people from the referrer to their Nightstop host's home.

Volunteer drivers

Many of the children and families we work with don't have access to a vehicle or other transport links. Volunteer drivers play an important role in giving young people access to our activities and parents/carers access to parenting groups.

Independent Visitors

Independent Visitors support children and young people in care who have little or no contact with their birth families. They are long term mentors and befrienders who offer a listening ear, guidance and access to sport and leisure activities on a regular basis.

Volunteer advocates

Volunteer advocates work with individual children and young people in care, on the edge of care or leaving care. They ensure that their wishes and views are listened to and taken into account when decisions are being made about their future, or if they want to make a complaint.

Parenting Services volunteers

Volunteers who have completed a parenting programme can support other parents to access the courses and put their parenting strategies into practice.
