Action for Children deliver a variety of Short Break services and activities for young disabled people and children in Stoke-on-Trent.

 Virtual Activities

We have virtual activities available to Children who currently access the Aiming High programme

In advance of each session, the provider will contact you with your link to Teams or Zoom. Have fun!



Due to the COVID 19 outbreak, as of Friday 20th March we are regrettably suspending regular activities for children and young people for the foreseeable future. We are obviously very sad to have to do this but it is the only course of action in these circumstances.

Our staff are available to talk to you and provide support on the phone.

Action for Children: Stoke-on-Trent Aiming High

Action for Children are the lead provider for the Stoke-On-Trent Aiming High for Disabled Children Programme. Our staff are fully trained and skilled to deliver the best possible care and activities for our service users across the city. We know how challenging it can be when children need access to full-time support and care. We understand that by delivering the right services at the right time, disabled children, young people and their families can thrive.

As there is high demand for our Short Break activities, pre-booking is required.

1st - 10th of the month: you will need to book your child onto their chosen core offer activity.

11th - 15th of the month you can book onto any additional activities for a nominal contribution. 

To make a booking or to notify our team of a cancellation, please contact us on 01782 683 129 or email with your choices. Please also include reserve choices to avoid disappointment.   


How to pay for activities

By Post

Send a cheque or postal order, made payable to Action for Children. Please ensure your child's name is written clearly on the back so we can ensure payment is allocated to the correct account.

By cash

Call in to the Dudson Centre, Hanley, to visit the office.

By Credit or Debit Card

Call us to pay over the phone, or pop in to see us!
