This month has been a lively one for us all here at Aiming High. As well as carrying out our usual jam-packed schedule of short break activities for disabled children and young people across Stoke on Trent, we’ve been busy preparing for the New Year. We’ve got lots of exciting new activities coming soon, so keep an eye out for the latest brochure to be available on the website!

We also enjoyed doing some Halloween-themed sessions in October, including pumpkin carving, scary-mask making and a super-spooky Halloween party!

We were extremely lucky to receive a donation from the National Citizen Scheme, who help young people across Stoke-on-Trent try new things, gain new skills and challenge themselves. Volunteers from the programme raised funds by helping to pack bags at a local supermarket, and joining Action for Children staff at a family event. They also held an auction, a teddy bear tombola and a cake sale, raising a massive £1651!

A huge thank you to all who took part, and to everyone who donated their time and money to the fundraising! We will be putting the money towards an iPad and Playstation for our children and young people, as well as lots of other toys and resources for various activities.
