Circa £8.91 per hour

The role

Stoke Aiming High provides wide range of group-based activities for young people with disabilities and SEND needs out of school hours.  We offer sport, music, crafts, day trips, meals out and sensory sessions. Our team have proven experience in providing Short Break services, support, information and professional advice for all our service users.

We are currently recruiting for Young Persons Assistants to work flexibly across Stoke on Trent. The right candidate will need to be able to relate well to young people, and we will provide all the necessary training to help you flourish in this role.

You need to be able to work during afterschool time i.e., 4-7 weekends for 3-4 hours and school holidays. Please note, this is a casual position, and you will be offered shifts during these times. 

You will make a difference by:

- Promoting independence.
- Maintaining personal hygiene and carrying out personal care as and when needed.
- Encouraging active participation among the service users across the project.
- Creating and maintaining a fun and stimulating environment.
- Supporting young people on day trips.
- Building and maintaining excellent rapport with the young people.

You will need:

- Flexibility to travel across Stoke on Trent to meet the needs of the project.
- A positive and proactive approach.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding.
- To be willing to go the extra mile in making a real life difference.
