'My name is Sofia. Sofia is an Italian name because the Scottish spelling uses a 'ph' instead of an 'f' and MacKenzie is a very popular Scottish name. To represent my heritage I have brought in a pot of dry pasta with a tartan ribbon tied on the top. The pasta represents my mum's side because she is Italian and was raised in Italy near Bologna and we visit her parents ( my Italian grandparents) usually once every one or two years. The ribbon represents my dad's side because he was born and raised in Edinburgh. I think my heritage is quite different to other people because there are not any people I know that have the same heritage than me.'

'My first name is Cerys, which is Welsh for loved one. My dad is Welsh, my mum is English but her parents are Welsh although I was born in Scotland. The ties I brought in belong to my Grandad on my mum’s side. They both represent Wales with daffodils and the Welsh dragon. I think that my heritage is quite similar to lots of people's but we should all celebrate our similarities as well as our differences.'

'Hi my name is Sophie my mum and dad were both fully Scottish which makes me completely Scottish. I have lived with my grandparents since I was 8 years old they are pure Scottish as well that’s why I am Scottish. A day before my 6th birthday we went up the Scots monument which has been a yearly thing since then. I don’t think my heritage is different from any others because a lot of people are Scottish but I don’t think they go up the Scots monument every year and I am proud of that.'

'Hi I’m Ollie P. My mum is from Edinburgh and my dad is from Chester. I’ve chosen a Celtic scarf (I also have a lot of other things to do with them) it’s just well me and my dad that supports Celtic most of my family support hearts. The reason I chose the scarf is coz my dad gave it to me when he came back from holiday and if he ever goes anywhere for a while it reminds me of him. I didn’t get to say thanks for coming in it made me think where I am from.'

'My name is Julia which means pearl in Chinese. I was born and raised here and so was my dad but his parents are from Hong Kong . My mum was born and raised in Vietnam and so were her parents but she moved here 14 years ago.The objects I brought in were a Vietnamese dress and a piece of tartan fabric . The dress has a red background and light pink cherry blossoms on it. It’s important to me because all my family in Vietnam have recently moved to America so I likely won’t be going back . The tartan ribbon is from a pen old piece of clothing which doesn’t mean anything to me . That is my heritage.'

'My name is Maria. My parents are both Indian but my mum was born near the north. My item is a piece of fabric from a traditional dress from India. You wear dresses like that on special occasions like weddings or if you go out. It stands out because most of the dresses are colourful and bright. My item is special to me because as far as I know everyone wears these dresses. This item is more unique that others and I’m proud of it.'

'I am Megan and I brought in an origami thistle . I don’t know all of my heritage, but I know that I am Scottish, and I wanted to express that in a creative way, so I made an origami thistle. My thistle doesn’t really mean anything to me. Most people in p7 are Scottish or has Scottish in their heritage . I think that I expressed my heritage in an individual way.'
