Quesell's story - STEM programme

Quesell participated in the STEM programme on a placement at Scott Moncrieff, a chartered accountancy and business adviser firm.

Fantastic opportunity

We were fortunate enough to be offered a work placement opportunity from Scott Moncrieff, chartered accountants and business advisers.

This posed a fantastic opportunity to act as a placement under our STEM programme which focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

We found the ideal candidate for the programme in Quesell.

Quesell was attending a local Activity Agreement Hub and was studying Accountancy in her own time after already completing a college application with a view to starting a course later in the year.

Quesell has lived in various locations around the world. As someone who has moved around a lot and will possibly do so again, she was looking for a career which is transferrable and reliable for the long term.

What we did

We worked closely with Quesell on interview preparation and mock interviews.

She used her Barclays Best Foot Forward Funding to source new interview clothes, stationery and materials.

Quesell was nervous about undertaking such a big opportunity but is continuing to do well and making a good impression in the firm, building experience and knowledge which will be invaluable in taking her career forward in the future.
